On 480 meters over the sea level rises one of the tallest buildings in Central Asia – Tashkent television tower. You can see the well-shaped skyline of this construction from any corner of the city. Its height is 375 meters. The building was started in 1978 and put into operation on January 15 in 1985. The Tashkent tower is a part of federation of the World’s Great Towers and takes the 9th place among them.
It should be noted, that among the CIS countries the Tashkent TV Tower takes the second place after the Ostankino tower in Moscow. TV and radio broadcasting are main functions of this construction. The meteorological station is also installed on the tower. Citizens and city guests can lift up to the 105 and 110 meters high to visit restaurants with revolving floors. From such high level appears the beautiful panorama of Tashkent.
