Khazrat-Imom Complex is the outstanding religious center of Tashkent. Buildings erected during XVI - XXI centuries on the 2 hectares square are Mausoleum of the Saint Abu-Bakr Kaffal Shosh, Barak Khan Madras, Juma Mosque, library and Islamic Institute of Imam Al-Bukhari.
The Complex got its name due to deposition of Saint Abu-Bakr Kaffal Shosh. This person was a literate theologist, expert of Koran and Hadithes, and a talented poet.
His scientific works on law and philosophy are presently famous. He died and was buried in 976. But the mausoleum where Kaffal Shosh lies was built in 1541. Near the mausoleum of the first Tashkent’s Saint there is Madras of Barak Khan built by Nauruz Akhmad Tashkent’s sultan in honor of his preceptor Zainutddin Vasifi. Islamic Institute takes the building of the former Namazgoh Mosque- monument of Islamic architecture of XVIII - XIX centuries. Here study students, which will become imams (preachers). Rich library of the complex keeps in its collection valuable manuscripts, which number reaches 30000. But the real treasure of the library is Koran of Khalif Osman, third successor of the prophet Mukhammed.
This complex is world-known. Here lead roads of those, who desire to see the original Koran of VII.
