One of the most beautiful places of Tashkent – Theater square- was formed in the middle of XX century.
It is composed by State academic grand theater of opera and ballet of Alisher Navoi, building of “Tashkent palace” hotel, Universal shopping center and “Shark” (“East”) publishing house. There is a unique fountain, made in the shape of a cotton ball, in the middle of the square.

Amir Timur Square is situated in the very center of Tashkent city. The square was laid in the end of XIX century at the request of governor Chernyaev and originally called as Konstantinovskiy. The many years history of the square is demonstrated by old plane trees, oaks and acacias which were planted almost hundred years ago.

Khazrat-Imom Complex is the outstanding religious center of Tashkent. Buildings erected during XVI - XXI centuries on the 2 hectares square are Mausoleum of the Saint Abu-Bakr Kaffal Shosh, Barak Khan Madras, Juma Mosque, library and Islamic Institute of Imam Al-Bukhari.
The Complex got its name due to deposition of Saint Abu-Bakr Kaffal Shosh. This person was a literate theologist, expert of Koran and Hadithes, and a talented poet.

Kukeldash Madras is one of the biggest madras of XVI century in Central Asia. It was built during the government of Barak –Khan (1551-1575). The architect was his wazir, named “Kukeldash” (translated as “foster-brother of khan”).

Juma Mosque is located in the old part of Tashkent city, in the Chorsu square. It was planning to build a fist Juma (Friday) mosque of the city at the demand of Tashkent’s vicar Yakh’ya ibn Asad in IX century. Only ruins of that mosque remained in XV century. A new building, which had a shape of cube with dome and vaulted roof oriented to the East, was built here in 1451. The Juma mosque was erected by the order of sheik Ubaydulla Khodja Akhror (1404-1490). He was an outstanding religious leader of his epoch and Sufism expert. Adherents of the Sufism can be met in many countries of the world.

On 480 meters over the sea level rises one of the tallest buildings in Central Asia – Tashkent television tower. You can see the well-shaped skyline of this construction from any corner of the city. Its height is 375 meters. The building was started in 1978 and put into operation on January 15 in 1985. The Tashkent tower is a part of federation of the World’s Great Towers and takes the 9th place among them.
