Abu Djoffar Mohammed ibn Musa al Khwarizmi al Madjusi al- Katrabbuli is one of the world’s great scientist, mathematician, astronomer and historian. The scientific world knows him as Mohammed Al Khwarizmi. He was born in Raml village, suburbs of Khiva, in 783.
He wrote over 20 several works that generally influenced the development of the mathematics as a since. His famous book is “The Compendious Book on Calculation by Completion and Balancing”. It is known, that term “Algebra” originates from Arabic “al-jabr” and means “completion”. Al Khwarezmi was one of those who introduced the Algebra as a science for the first time. He described six standard forms of linear and quadratic equations and methods of their solution. It is important to note, that these methods are used in modern practice. His further discovery was a description to the Latin term “algorithm” – “constant process of calculation”.
The second book “Indian system of numeration” is also nine Arabic figures and zero. His works, such as “Zidj” in astronomy and “Book of history” are known and to the present time.
Al Khwarizmi moved to Bagdad in 819 and stayed there till his last days. He continued his work in Bagdad and was appointed to a post of head of Mamun’s Academy, important scientific center of the middle ages, since 829.
His contribution in science development is great and invaluable.
