Puppets manufactory is a kind of handicraft art in Uzbekistan.
Strolling jiggers were gladdening children and adults in bazaars and squares in the beginning of XX century. And since 1939 the Republic Puppets Theater, which repertoire includes foreign and uzbek performances, was established.
Traditional puppet is a way to learn and understand a rich history, traditions and diversity of uzbek culture. It seems that puppets come to live in hands of professional wire-puller. Experts try to express their vision of the world through puppets.
Our forefathers used wood, clay, straw and reed to make puppets.
Hand puppets made from colored papier-mache, wood and clay remained till our days. Dresses for puppets are made in traditional style. Puppet masters use their own technology of cutting and embroidery. Puppets represent different type of people, literary heroes and characters.
Nowadays, puppets are dressed in traditional wear and used as souvenir or decoration.
