March 21 – celebration of Navrus in Uzbekistan.
During your trip you will get an opportunity to: * visit such historical cities as: Tashkent, Khiva, Bukhara, Samarkand and Shakhrisyabz; * esteems the eastern hospitality in different families in Samarkand; * take part in events related to Navruz: songs, dances, sport competitions, such as Buzkashi and etc. * participate in preparation of the festive dishes such, as pilaf and sumalyak. «Navruz» is translated as the “New Day” (New Year). This fest originally connected with Zoroastrianism religion. Zoroastrians equated the March 21 with awakening of the God of the Nature- Siyavush, whose symbolic tomb is situated under the Ark Citadel in Bukhara. The wakening of Siyavush symbolized the recovery of the Nature and spring. One of the folk events of Navruz is a sporting game Buzgashi, when several tens of horsemen compete for bulk of a sacrificial goat.
«Darvishona» - the ceremony of a sacrifice to the Goddess of the fruitfulness- Anakhita «Sumalak» - the main festive dish of Navruz. The group of women prepares this dish for the whole night, accompanying the cooking with singing and dancing. The term “Sumalak” comes from Tadjik “Simalak” and translated as a “dish of 30 angels”.
Tashkent-Khiva-Bukhara-Shakhrisabz-Samarkand
Day 1, March 14: Arrival in Tashkent
Arrival in Tashkent in the morning. Meeting in the airport, transfer to a hotel and check-in. Sight seeing in Tashkent: Khazrat Imom Complex- Barak Khan Madras, Kaffal Shosh Mausoleum; Kukeldash Madras, Chor-Su Bazaar, Abdulkasim Madras and Museum of handicraft art.

Day 2, March 15: Tashkent-Urgench-Khiva
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to airport and morning flight to Urgench. Arrival in Urgench and transfer to Khiva (30 km). Accommodation in the hotel. Sight seeing in Khiva: Kunya Ark Fortress, Feruz Madras, Seyid Alauddin Mausoleum, Pakhlavan Makhmud Mausoleum, Islam Khodja Madras and Minaret, Juma Mosque and Tosh Khovli Palace.

 Day 3, March 16: Khiva-Bukhara
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer Khiva- Bukhara (470 km, 7 hours driving) after the breakfast. Arrival in Bukhara and accommodation in the hotel. Folk show with traditional Central Asian musical instrument in the evening.

Day 4, March 17: Bukhara
Breakfast in the hotel. Sight seeing in old city of Bukhara: Poi Kalyan Square- Kalyan Mosque and Miri Arab Madras, Kalyan Minaret; Trade cupolas- Toki Zargaron, Toki Telpak Furushon, Toki Saffaron; Ulugbek’s Madras, Abdulaziz Khan Madras, Magokki Attori Mosque and Lyabi Khaus Complex.
Go on sight seeing after the lunch time: Mausoleum of the Samanides, Chashma Ayub Mausoleum, Bolo-Khaus Mosque and Ark Fortress.

Day 5, March 18: Bukhara
Breakfast in the hotel. Go on excursion program. Monuments in Bukhara’s suburbs: Chor Bakr Necropolis and Bagautdin Nakshbandi Mausoleum.

Day 6, March 19: Bukhara –Shakhrisabz-Samarkand
Breakfast in the hotel. After the breakfast transfer Bukhara – Samarkand via Shakhrisabz- native town of Amir Temur. Arrival in Shakhisabz and visit city monuments: Ak Sarai Palace, Djahongir Mausoleum, Khazrati Imom Mosque, Kuk-Gumbaz Mosque and Shamsiddin Kulal Mausoleum. Transfer to Samarkand after lunch.

 Day 7, March 20: Samarkand
Breakfast in the hotel. Full sight seeing day in Samarkand. Registan Square- Ulugbek’s Madras , Sherdor Madras, Tillya Kari Madras; Bibi Khanim Mosque; bazaar; Shakhi Zinda Necropolis ; Gur Emir Mausoleum- tomb of Amir Temur.

Day 8, March 21: Samarkand
Breakfast in the hotel. You will spend a full day in the country side taking part in spring fest Navruz, preparing Sumalyak, participating in songs, dances and Buzkashi festival. Return to Samarkand in the evening.

Day 9, March 22: Samarkand
Breakfast in the hotel. Go on excursion along Samarkand: Ulugbek’s Observatory, Afrosiab Museum and Tomb of Saint Daniyar.

Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer Samarkand-Tashkent. Arrival in Tashkent. Go on city tour along Tashkent: Mustakillik Square, Theatric Square, subway and etc.
